Knife/Blunt Weapon Defense for Armed Defenders
Sunday, December 3rd, 10:00 – 2:00 IDS Advanced Training Center
When you have been selected as the target for a violent attack it will not come at a time or place of your choosing and you likely will not be aware it is even happening until your attacker (or attackers in many cases) is right on top of you. Many times, these attacks will involve blunt objects or edged weapons. In these cases, it’s critical to have a trained understanding of proximity and fighting your way to a position of tactical superiority before going to higher force. Failure to understand these dynamics can mean catastrophic outcomes for armed citizen defenders.
This class, through tried and true combative principles and training practices, starts you down the path of confidently dealing with these high probability and potentially lethal attacks.
Modalities include but are not limited to: Proximity and timeline training, defending a charging attack, defending various blunt object attacks, defending various edged weapon attacks, transitioning to higher force, effective takedowns fighting your way to the gun, legalities and proper use of force.
